The Patch Updates settings from: AppCompatFlags which is used to run certain Software compatible to certain Release of Windows. Maybe they took at the XP Flag ;-)

Or maybe they can stop collecting data for XP > W7 Migration customers..? Or for the W7 to W8 customers. That means if you run a Software in Compatiblity Mode

Maybe the info is sent to MS somehow? Maybe in Certificate Revocation Lists? Maybe in Windows Updates packets?
